On the strength of that film many people declared that he should have stuck to wrestling, but with his fee being the highest ever paid for an actor in his first starring role, it seems unlikely that he was stung by the critical reception.

Although not usually visible in his acting roles, anybody who has seen him wrestle will have noticed his tattoos. He has a tattoo on his upper left arm and shoulder representing his heritage: "In Polynesian culture tattooing is a big thing. It's my family, my genealogy and history. My daughter's on here - it's called pu'a mana which means "strength of a woman" and in my family women have always stood strong and I respect that." It's a highly impressive design, and Johnson said that it took sixty hours to ink.

His other tattoo is equally impressive, although a lot smaller. The Rock's Brahma Bull tattoo is on his upper right arm and shows a rather fierce looking bull's head with glowing red eyes. A perfect choice for this beast of a man! It also represents his zodiac sign of Taurus.

What Is A Brahma Bull?

The Brahma - also known as Brahman - is a breed of cattle commonly used for breeding and in the meat industry. The bulls can weigh up to one ton, yet despite their massive size they are known as intelligent and docile.

Maybe The Rock was trying to say the same about himself? Perhaps he's just a big softy after all? I'm not sure I'd want to say that to his face, mind!
